Why does the world of fashion need change? A new blog is coming out!
We are becoming more and more aware of the damage that the fast fashion inflicts. Water overuse, air pollution, carbon footprint, a huge production of artificial fabrics wrapped in plastic, not to mention shocking working conditions in China, India or Bangladesh. Despite the awareness, we struggle to understand what and how to buy, not to contribute to the above…We also struggle to access reliable information. We are becoming more confused than ever. On one hand, we are being flooded with horrifying news about the fashion industry. On the other hand, we see the marketing ads of most popular brands, selling their new campaigns We still want to look chic and unique…What should we do then to keep buying, but to do it consciously and eco-friendly? Up till now, a lot of questions remained unanswered. This is why I am coming to the rescue! I’m Ola. I’ve been writing articles and creating on-line content on ecology, consumption and zero-waste for years now! I run a website EkoManufaktury.pl & Instagram profile @ekomanufaktury, where I write quite a lot about local, natural and ecological goods – starting with beauty products and detergents, up to pottery and candles. On this blog, I am going to get you acquainted with a wide range of fashion-related terminology. I will answer lots of questions and recommend reliable sources of information. I will help you resolve all the doubts regarding slow fashion. I will recommend things to buy, and those to stay away from.
Slow fashion, fast fashion and others
Fashion is not only about selling clothes. A t-shirt or a dress are just the results of a long process worth diving deep. The upcoming posts will talk about fast fashion, circular economy, recycling, upcycling, downcycling or greenwashing. You don’t have to be an expert to become a conscious consumer. Understanding of several terms will help you navigating within the ocean of the Internet and store shells. Thanks to your newly acquired knowledge, you will no longer be fooled by any discounts. You will be able to resist any impulsive decision. You will discover a new side of fashion, that hopefully turns out to be way better then the one you’ve already known.
Putting theory into practice
I’m talking about theory, while Jackob Buczyński is a guy who puts it into practice thanks to his creativity. When I write about new eco-friendly solutions, he helps them become reality. His jackets are way more than just colorful pieces of clothing – more importantly, they are manifesting changes that the world of fashion desperately needs. These beautiful jackets are made from resistance against unfair practices and natural disasters. For some people, used fabrics are just rubbish that need to be burnt or put in the garbage dump. For others, those more creative, these fabrics can become a basis for unique pieces of clothing. Absolutely unusual, standing out from the crowd!
The new fashion era
As you can already see, the new face of fashion industry is happy, subversive and very colorful! Inspired by rainbow, diversity and freedom. Made by and for the people, who not only believe they can change the world, but they have already started doing it long time ago.
